Maureen O’Boyle stepped into this world on July 14, 1963, and is one of the ten children. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her father worked for Xerox thus their family was almost moving every two years from New York to England until and unless they settled back in Charlotte. In Charlotte, her father started a specialty advertising company “Timeplanner Calendars.”

O’Boyle’s sixth brothers took the complete responsibility of the family business and helped it to make a multimillion-dollar company. They sold it in summer 2007. Speaking of O’Boyle’s education, she graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1981. Later, she studied journalism at East Carolina University.

In the freshman year at East Caroline University, O’Boyle helped to restore the campus radio station WZMB. Her journalism career started when she was hired to do morning cut-ins at the NBC affiliate in the station WITN. Later, she went to work in Greenville on weekends for WNCT.

The talented journalist, Maureen left school before graduation and worked as a nightside reporter and promoted to noon anchor in WECT in Wilmington. After, WECT, she worked as a co-anchor and reporter for WMAZ. She left the job to join CBS affiliate KREM 2 in Spokane, Washington to become the main anchor.

Maureen O’Boyle age was 27 when she was recruited to replace Maury Povich on “A Current Affair.” She hosted the show for around five years until 1995 and replaced by Penny Daniels. In the same year, she started to work as weekend anchor and reporter for TV series “Extra.”

In 1996, she left “Extra” to proof her versatility and hosted her talk show “In Person.” O’Boyle also appeared in numerous movies like “So I Married an Axe Murderer” and “Undisputed.”

O’Boyle also appeared in the 1998 episodes of “The Larry Sanders Show” where she interviewed Garry Shandling’s lead character. She stopped her professional career to focus on her personal life after being a mother. After around four year’s gap, she returned to her hometown and joined WBT.

Talking about her personal life, in 1992 she revealed that a man broke into her apartment and raped her on April 3, 1986. The man, James E. Starling, was arrested after committing the second raped and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
