While Bailey joined WGRZ, she served as a weekly reporter only but after one year, she was promoted to work as an anchor in station new Sunday Morning Newscasts.

After working for two years, she again got promoted to work as a solo anchor for late-night TV network broadcasts at 10 pm for interviews. There she covered hard news and extended special coverage of weekend news. In 2011, she won the New York State Regional Emmy Award.
