The duo welcomed a daughter, Vanessa, born on September 28, 1968, in Paris, France. They separated their ways on January 16, 1973. On January 19, 1973, Jane married activist, Tom Hayden.

The couple welcomed their son, Troy O’Donovan Garity on July 7, 1973, in Los Angeles. Fonda and Hayden were divorced on June 10, 1990.
